APPENDICES

This was our first project of 2014 over a four-week period. Our client was Caroline Shepard, a senior civil servant, who is growing more and more concerned with youth engagement within politics. Our main question we were posed with was; can innovation and design improve public engagement and participation in our political life?

The Medeli project was a one-week collaboration with Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Medeli was their direct client; we were working directly for HKPU to further their project development. Medeli is a manufacturer and distributor of electrionical musical instruments, mainly keyboards and electronic drum kits.

This was a short 2-week project for an exhibition in the Centre for Life about Northumbria’s researchers. Their research work will be on display during the Bodyworlds exhibition in May. We were tasked with managing each stakeholders expectations and creating an inspiring stand to show-off Northumbria’s talents.

Low Simonside is a small community located in Jarrow, and the community centre there is changing from a council funded spot to self-sustaining space. This poses many questions for the community of Low Simonside; as a cohort we were not given a brief with this project but research and discover ourselves where we could add the most value.

This was our second project with Unilever on MDI; there was still a similar theme around surfactants but this time we were specifically focusing on the technology behind their new bio-surfactants. Within this 3-week project we were tasked with developing a range of communications and storytelling that could explain to the consumer how this new technology might work.
